Geography of Ios Island
Ios is an island of the Cyclades and lays between Naxos, Sikinos and Santorini.
Ios island extends on 108 square kilometers, with a maximum length of 17 km and width 7,5 kilometers. Ios has 87 kilometers of shoreline, of which 30 kilometers are sandy beaches. The distance of Ios from Piraeus is 110 miles, from Iraklion in Crete 72 miles and from Siros, 55 miles.
The population of Ios island at the 2001 inventory was 1.838 inhabitants of which 1.632 they live inside the town of Ios, its capital.
